Tomatoes are often picked unripened so they won’t bruise during shipping to the stores. Then, before they’re sold, these green tomatoes are sprayed with CO2 gas to turn them red instantly. This process might provide a beautiful red ripe-looking tomato, but it vine-ripened flavor is lacking. Christ like character growth cannot be rushed either. We must allow its full season for maturity. Note, even on the same vine, each fruit ripens at its own pace. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; Galatians 5:22-23
