We Need To Change Our Thinking!

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5

I created the picture to the left in 2016, today is 2024. How quickly we forget. I was reminded this morning how we need to receive the miracle of daily grace over our addictions. God’s Word says His mercies are new every morning and that is how an addict must receive His miracles of mercy…Daily…moment by moment. Some people might say, “if its a true miracle you’d be healed instantly, one and done”. And maybe that might be true for some folks but even Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Trisha Fenimore says in her *Instagram post,  “The miracle is to have the recognition that I know I cannot have just one (drink), the miracle of His grace upon my life is that I do not take just one.” Our walk with the Lord is daily, moment by moment especially for someone who struggles with some sort of addiction, constant craving or desire to fill a void i.e. ADDICTION. Satan knows our buttons and he’s going to push them. Alcohol has been a plague in my family and I swore it would end in this generation and thankfully, by God’s grace, it has! But, is it possible that Satan, that devil, just repurposed the addiction of alcohol and now I need to make that same commitment about food?

When I say my prayers every morning I need to include thanking God for His mercies that are new every morning and receive and believe them for myself.  Then, any moment throughout the day, recognize those times of cravings for food, or other addictions, be obedient to the Holy Spirit, and make His miraculous choices over my life.
