If this is all I allow you for now, will you still honor me in it?
Many of the lessons that come into our lives have been through our marriages and relationships. Therefore, my hope is that in sharing some of the stuggles my husband and I have been through you will be blessed and encouraged in your own relationships. God's Word tells us that we will receive comfort from our Heavenly Father and what we have received we should pass on to others. By Faith Ministries hopes to be able to share different stories; not to harm but to show how God uses our stuggles to further His will in our lives. I pray you will enjoy and find strength in what is shared.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
I go on record right now to say that; I love my husband more now then ever. We don't always get it right when we deal with each other but we have learned to love and forgive as God calls us to. This kind of love and forgiveness only comes from trusting that God is faithful; His mercies are new every morning and this becomes our template and example.
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness    Lamentations 3:21-23
You may also want to keep in mind, as you will learn in W.I.F.E. Sometimes it is not the one speaking who does the damage to a persons character but the one listening. My prayer and desire is that as you read a story or particular account that you will hold judgement on us until you have read to the end. I believe you will find that our aim is to always glorify God.

  Why the Window?

"The Hiding Place" by Corrie tenBoom was the greatest source of inspiration for me in the development of By Faith Ministries. As I read her story God began to show me the kind of strength it takes to honor Him in all circumstances.  It's easy to love and honor God when life is good but how does one love and honor Him when you feel your life is falling apart around you?  Corrie and her sister Betsie tenBoom taught me that this was possible. As I read the passages I began to apply them in my life. Before Betsie died she shared with Corrie how they would one day have "a home where people who had been warped by this philosophy of hate and force could come to learn another way." This home would have "tall, tall, windows" with window boxes in which to grow flowers stating, "people can learn to love, from flowers...

My life struggles could never be compared to the horrors they suffered in the concentration camps of WWII, but the lessons taught could be a resource in everyone's life circumstances. What a blessing this book has been in my life. Bestie tenBoom saw the window as something that offered them freedom to see out into the beautiful world and also allowed the sun to stream in! So, I selected the "window" as my icon. My prayer is that some of my stories will allow you to see what God is doing in my life and just maybe encourage you to allow His Son to stream into your life to turn and give it back to others!

I received permission from the authors to quote passages from "The Hiding Place" and developed a Bible/Book study. That was 20 years ago.  Today it is still an amazing resource of God's love and encouragement to me.

Where do I start to share my heart with the beginnings of BY FAITH MINISTRIES? Maybe the most appropriate question should be where do I stop?
Fifteen years ago,while reading the book, The Hiding Place by Corrie tenBoom;there was a passage where Betsie tenBoom says to her sister Corrie as she lays dying that; "...must tell people what we have learned here. We must tell them that there is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still. They will listen to us, Corrie, because we have been here." I found myself praying that God would allow me to help women the way Corrie and Betsie tenBoom sought to help those leaving concentration camps after WWII. They knew the pain, anger and trauma these people would be suffering upon leaving this horrible chapter of their lives because they had been there.  But, they also knew that their Heavenly Father could and would give them the strength, compassion and love needed to overcome their tragic experiences and release them into a freedom of new found power and purpose. There is something comforting in knowing that God not only has a plan but allows all that has come into our lives to be used to work out that plan. I believe that not one thing has come into or gone out of my life that has not been in direct preparation for God's purposes for me.Corrie tenBoom says it best: "Today I know that such memories are the key not to the past, but to the future. I know that the experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do." If I didn't believe this I would just have to curl-up into a ball and wait to die. As it is, I believe He is working out His plan and purpose for my life and yours. So, I sit rooted to my chair writing and praying that the Lord will allow all my life to honor Him in ways that only He knows. That, as it should be!
I feel like a kid in a candy store, so excited to be able to do most everything I have ever dreamed of in one venue. The internet is an amazing tool as long as I keep it in perspective. I have so many thoughts and there are so many possibilities I can't seem to decide where to go first! So, I think I will just dive in with my original ideas and just have fun. 

I pray that all we do with and in our lives will honor those who have gone before us, teach those who come behind us and glorify our Heavenly Father, God all the days of our lives. God bless you!

Women Instituting Faithful Excellence is women working together to be ALL we can be for our Lord and Savior. With so many segments of life pulling on us, at times, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and under appreciated. Then, at the same time, feel guilty because as Christians we should be sacrificial and humble. Submissive comes to mind but that is a lesson and discussion all its own.
Many days, weeks, maybe even months we can cruise along just fine in our relationships, whether it be marriage, colleagues, parents, siblings you pick! But then there comes that curve in the road when it seems everything becomes very bumpy, the car keeps pulling too far to the right flying down hill at top speed and it seems no matter how hard you try you can't regain control. You're afraid you might be on a down hill spiral to total wreckage. This actually describes a trip I once drove through western Maryland a few years ago and I remember thinking to myself, "We're going over the cliff, I hope it doesn't hurt!" You may hear me refer to this event from time to time as it has affected many areas of my life. But when this happens in your marriage it truly isn't pretty.
W.I.F.E is committed to helping us not only regain control of the run away relationship but to keep it at an even keel on a regular basis.

God has a marvelous plan for our lives and the only "relationship" in which to seek our joy and contentment is the one we have with Him. We will learn from each other how to draw from His wellspring of love, compassion, forgiveness and trust to find all we will ever need in HIM. Just watch what He'll do with all those other relationships!!

THIS WEB IDEA          

As we prayed about the development of this web site idea I specifically asked the Lord to show me if this could be in His will and if not to allow me the strength to let it go and drop the whole thing. One day as I was in my devotional time with the Lord I read this verse: See, I am doing a new thing!Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? ISA 43:19 Now, before you get your "turkey feathers" all ruffled I know this verse probably has more to do with the coming of our Lord and the way God would bring about our salvation, but is it just possible that; as a gal in her prayer time is requesting guidance and direction from the Lord, that He might just show her a scripturethat says ‘new things are coming’ even if that verse was originally meant to teach something else? “Do you not perceive it?” I thought it was very funny that God would show me a verse that speaks to the new thing He is doing and that it would spring up”. The internet certainly does that! I click on that little “e” on my desk top and “bam” I have the world at my finger tips. Maybe I could see that “e” standing for "evangelism” or maybe "encouragement" what about; "Everybody efficiently evangelize, energize, and encourage each other everyday!” Sounds scriptural to me. Oh well! We may not agree but the Lord has blessed me with this and many other verses, thoughts and experiences to share and... ~ here we are! enjoy!
