If this is all I allow you for now
will you still honor me in it?

LEARN FROM GOD’S WORD: “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Psalms 119:11 ESV.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every goodwork.” 2Timothy3:16-17NIV

Memorizing God’s Word is important, but living God’s Word should be the outcome.

Do we hurt our God the way others hurt us?

Do we offer to others what our God offers us?

Glean these scripture and find Godly traits that you could put into practice.

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23 ESV

LEARN FROM ONE ANOTHER:

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV

Corrie and Betsie tenBoom lived the horrors of a concentration camp during World War II after hiding Jews in their home. Before Betsie died in the concentration camp she said...

"...we must tell people what we have learned here. We must tell them that there is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still. They will listen to us, Corrie, because we have been here." Betsie ten Boom as told by Corrie

Why did Betsie feel the urgency to “tell people what they’d learned?

What did Betsie mean “...that he is not deeper still?” Why did Betsie feel people would listen to them?

What things have happened in your life that you feel others would benefit from knowing?

"Today I know that such memories are the key not to the past, but to the future. I know that the experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do." Corrie tenBoom

Many people usually blame the struggles of their past for their negative behaviors and vices.

Why do you think Corrie ten Boom sees them as “perfect preparation” for Godly works?

What is your greatest takeaway from today’s lesson?

SETTING GROUND RULES

Please read the story or webpage assigned (above) before our class time. Have thoughts, questions and scriptures you may find helpful, ready.

Sometimes it’s not the one speaking who does harm to a person’s character but the one listening. When someone is sharing about another person who hurt or wronged them please hold off on judgement and commit to love that one, who is not here to defend themselves, as Christ loves them.

Please participate and be part of the group, but please do not monopolize the “floor”. Be sure to give consideration to others to speak.

Thanks so much!
